Summary:
A bit about us:
We are a thoughtful, easy-going, and inclusive family of 3 seeking a collaborative and engaging nanny for our active 15-month-old son. We enjoy laughing, playing, and going to brunch with friends. Both of us parents work in the mental health field: I’m a child psychologist, and Dad is a licensed therapist and crisis clinician. We value communication, critical thinking, and kindness in our home. We enjoy exposing our child to new experiences, cultures, and diverse perspectives. We are seeking a temporary nanny to join us ASAP until early May, when our kiddo may start daycare.
Our 15-month-old son is a playful, energetic, and adventurous toddler! He loves being read to, playing in the dirt, swinging, climbing, and being included in whatever you're doing.
A bit about you:
You are a collaborative, communicative, and playful nanny. You see yourself as a true teammate to parents. You bring experience with toddlers (15 months–2 years) and understand the balance between supporting development and honoring family preferences. You’re energetic and not afraid to be silly; songs, funny faces, and imaginative play are right up your alley! You’re confident offering feedback and observations while respecting that parenting decisions ultimately rest with the family. You value inclusivity, kindness, and open conversation, and you approach caregiving with both warmth and professionalism.
Job Duties:
Engaging in developmentally appropriate play, daily outings to the neighborhood park (3-5 minute walk), reading, supporting meals and snacks, maintaining a no-screen-time environment, and helping reinforce safe boundaries for an adventurous (aka fearless) toddler. You will prepare our child’s meals/snacks, clean up after eating and activities, handle children’s laundry, and leave the home as tidy as you found it. Driving is not required except in case of emergency.
Position Highlights:
Qualifications: Experience caring for toddlers (15 months–2 years required), CPR & First Aid certified, valid Driver’s License and reliable personal vehicle, willing to complete drug screening, flexible to work until 6p when needed, and comfortable working in a home where parents work remotely sometimes.
Set yourself apart: It would be a bonus if you are knowledgeable about local toddler-friendly activities in the San Diego area and/or excel at creative ideas for developmentally enriching play.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday (8a-5p)
Starts ASAP!
Pay: $25-$30 an hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
