Summary:
A bit about us:
We’re a warm, educated family of three seeking an experienced and vivacious nanny/educator to join our home and care for our wonderful 2-year-old daughter. As first-time parents, we deeply value patience, lots of talking to our daughter, teaching her skills to prepare her for preschool. We’re looking for a nanny/educator eager to jump in and turn our playroom into a classroom.
We embrace a Gentle Parenting approach that emphasizes mutual respect and setting boundaries in a way that presents options while prioritizing safety. One of our foundational house rules is no screen time for our daughter, and we’re looking for a nanny who is happy to be fully present and off their phone during active caregiving hours (breaks are your time!). I work from upstairs, while my husband works mostly outside the home. We're naturally a quiet and calm family, and we genuinely appreciate someone with a bright, friendly spirit who will bring warmth and joyful interaction to our daughter’s day.
Our 2-year-old daughter is a bright and energetic toddler who delights in water play, storytelling, painting, and stickers. She has a curious mind, a generous heart, and loves to be included in everyday activities like cooking and tidying. She helps prepare dinner and even enjoys unloading the dishwasher with Mom!
A bit about you:
You are a seasoned professional and a social butterfly with a genuine love for children—especially toddlers. You bring lots of energy and creativity to your work and can effortlessly blend structure with playful exploration. You're someone who understands that each moment is an opportunity to teach with kindness and support a child’s curiosity; you are a natural teacher with so many fun ideas you want to incorporate. You have a strong understanding of toddler development, clear communication, and you always prioritize safety. You align beautifully with a gentle, positive parenting philosophy, and you respect a child’s growing autonomy. You're happy to work within our home and backyard environment and can consistently come up with a variety of enriching indoor and backyard activities.
Job Duties: Engaging our toddler in age-appropriate play, games, learning and enrichment, child’s food prep for lunch and a snack, diaper changing, potty training, age-appropriate sensory play, following our preferred parenting style, child’s laundry, organizing toys, cleaning toys, and cleaning play area weekly.
Position Highlights:
Qualifications: 5 years of childcare experience with toddlers from 2-3 years old, at least one previous nanny placement, knowledge of toddler development and safety, native English speaker, basic meal prep ability for child only, valid Driver’s license, a reliable car, and CPR plus First Aid certifications. Willing to abide by our house rules such as no cell phone use when you are with our child (on your breaks, you are welcome to be on your phone!), and no outdoor play beyond our backyard at this.
Set yourself apart: You have worked at a preschool. You love what you do and can’t wait to narrate and teach our baby!
Schedule: Monday-Friday (9a-5p)
Starts early/mid June 2025!
Pay: $35 an hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
