After School Nanny Position for 4 children
Eden Prairie, MN
Part Time
Student (College)
Family Location: Eden Prairie
Summary:
A bit about us:
We are an active, close-knit family of six, Mom, Dad, a 9 year old girl, a 7 year old boy, a 6 year old girl and a 1 year old boy with a playful german shepard. We value both learning and adventure. As parents, we strive to create a home where curiosity, kindness, and meaningful experiences go hand in hand. You'll often find us reading together, exploring new ideas, or enjoying a quiet afternoon with a good book, but we also love getting out to experience all that our community has to offer.
Family time is incredibly important to us. We enjoy eating dinner together, staying involved in one another's lives, and making the most of our time as a family. Our children genuinely enjoy being together and have a wonderful relationship with one another. With our busy schedules, there is always an activity, outing, or adventure on the calendar, so we appreciate someone who is organized, adaptable, and ready to jump into the day alongside us.
Above all, we are raising thoughtful, compassionate children. We encourage open conversations about feelings, empathy, and treating others with kindness, while fostering independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. We are looking for a nanny who shares these values and is excited to become a postive, supportive presence in our family's daily life.
A bit about you:
We are looking for a trustworthy, energetic, and engaging nanny who is excited to become a meaningful part of our family's lives. Our ideal candidate has the energy and enthusiasm to keep up with four active children while creating a fun, structured, and nurturing environment. We value someone who is warm and caring, yet confident in setting clear boundaries, maintaining consistent expectations, and providing gentle guidance when needed.
A strong candidate will be comfortable supporting our screen-free approach to parenting, understanding that we rarely use screens and instead encourage creativity, reading, outdoor play, and hands-on activities. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being present with children, whether that's reading aloud, playing catch, building forts, joining a board game, cheering them on as they show off a new skill, or laughing along as they tell jokes, dance, and be silly. We want someone who isn't just supervising from the sidelines, but actively participating in their day.
Because transportation is part of the role, a safe and reliable driver is essential. Most importantly, we hope to find someone who is looking for more than just a temporary position. We would love to build a long-term relationship with a nanny who can grow with our family, return year after year, and become a trusted, dependable presence in our children's lives.
Job Duties:
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The day begins with light household support, including tidying the children's bedrooms and common living areas, completing the children's laundry, preparing snacks and light meal prep, cleaning up after meals, and assisting with occasional pet care. Vacuuming is appreciated but not required.
Around 2:30 p.m., you'll meet the children at the bus stop, help them with snacks and homework, and guide them through their after-school routine. This includes encouraging age-appropriate responsibilities such as unpacking and repacking backpacks, organizing homework for parent signatures, preparing for the next school day, and completing chores before playtime. The afternoon also includes transporting one of our daughters to gymnastics by 4:20 p.m. for her 4:30 p.m. practice.
We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and enjoys creating a structured, positive environment while helping our family stay on track each day.
Position Highlights: Guaranteed hours, Holidays Off, potential to pick up more hours on days school is out
Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience and any type of childcare experience is ok- someone who has organizational experience, is able to keep the schedule and multi-task and knows all of the moving parts.
