Infant Nanny Job in Seattle, WA | Part-Time Position with a Local Family

Childcare - Seattle, WA - Part Time

Position Type: Part-Time
Location: Seattle, WA
Office: Jovie of Seattle, WA

Summary:
A bit about us: We are a warm and calm Seattle family looking for a loving nanny to care for our baby girl, who will be about 3-months-old when care begins. We value open, thoughtful communication and want to build a relationship where our nanny feels comfortable discussing different ideas and approaches to raising our child. Mom will often be at home and nursing throughout the day, but generally plans to give the nanny space and may be fairly quiet while going about her day. Before welcoming our daughter, we loved skiing, visiting parks, taking walks, and spending time outdoors with our dog, and we hope our little one will enjoy plenty of outdoor time as she grows. Our home is in a very walkable neighborhood with a children's park about five minutes away, a small backyard, and plenty of opportunities to get outside.

A bit about you: You are a gentle, experienced, and proactive nanny who genuinely enjoys caring for infants and understands the rhythms of a young baby's day. Strong communication is especially important to us, and we're looking for someone who is comfortable taking initiative while also collaborating openly with parents. You are attentive and engaged, creating plenty of screen-free interaction, play, and developmentally appropriate stimulation while following baby's cues. Because our home has two stories and a steep staircase, you should also be comfortable safely caring for and carrying an infant between floors throughout the day. Additional language skills, particularly Mandarin, French, or German, would be a wonderful bonus.

What You’ll Do: Your primary responsibility will be providing attentive, hands-on care for our infant, two 8-hour-days a week, following an age-appropriate feed, play, and sleep rhythm. During baby's alert periods, you'll engage her through play, interaction, walks around the neighborhood, and other screen-free, developmentally appropriate activities. You'll collaborate with the parents around feedings and help with simple meal preparation as needed. When baby is sleeping and time allows, we'd appreciate help keeping the household running smoothly through light tasks such as folding or transferring laundry, tidying rooms, taking out the garbage, etc. We also have a friendly, medium-sized Labradoodle; Mom will handle the dog's care, though small gestures such as filling an empty water bowl when noticed are appreciated. “Text NANNY to 206-752-6917 to apply and schedule your interview in under 3 minutes.
