Part-time Nanny in Irvine, CA for a 7-year-old
Irvine, CA
Part Time
Entry Level
Family Location: 92602
Summary:
A bit about us:
We’re a funny, friendly, and kind family of 3 with one cat named Biscotti. We all love reading, the outdoors, camping, and hiking. I work a hybrid schedule, but generally, my husband works outside the home.
Our 7-year-old son is self-directed and enjoys creating Formula 1 race tracks out of painter’s tape. He likes Legos, race cars, reading non-fiction, basketball, and funny people. Once he feels comfortable, he is very affectionate. He has anxiety so we plan to homeschool him in the afternoons after 2p.
A bit about you:
You have a playful sense of humor, and you live in the moment! You are patient, affectionate, and creative. You’re great at redirecting children and giving them a sense of autonomy by presenting choices. You’re someone who enjoys learning and sharing information. You’d describe yourself as a person who goes with the flow!
Job Duties:
Engaging our child in screen-free play and conversation, supervising independent play when needed, simple meal prep for breakfast and lunch, ensuring safety, going for walks and supervising bike-riding, driving our child for trips to park or swimming classes, etc, light tidying such as children’s laundry/sheets, vacuuming (when time permits), and picking up after meals and activities. Caring for our child will always come first above household duties.
Position Highlights:
Qualifications: 2 years of childcare experience, CPR certified or willing to get, basic cooking ability, okay working in a home with a cat, valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, willing to do driving and drug screens, and a reliable vehicle.
Set yourself apart: You have teaching experience and might be interested in taking on some of the homeschooling, and/or you are bilingual (Spanish/English or French/English).
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-2p)
Starting October 2025 (but flexible for the right nanny)!
Pay: $30 an hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
