Seeking Experienced Nanny

A bit about us:
We are a caring, personable family of 3 that love to have fun and have a sense of humor! I enjoy painting, and my husband likes playing guitar. I work from home, and my husband usually works outside the home. We consider ourselves fast learners who accomplish goals with precision so that the end result is correct. We expect our nanny to be similar to us in those ways. Our son’s health will greatly benefit from a nanny who is attentive to his physical needs with quick reflexes to prevent him from falling over and bumping his head. We’re looking for a long-term partner in our family!
Our 2-year-old son has a great sense of humor, and he loves laughing. He’s a vocal, determined, handsome little guy who needs hand-holding and protection while walking around. He has a neurological disorder called leukodystrophy that will impact all his motor skills (speech included) in the long term. The disease can progress rapidly with febrile infections such as common colds, pneumonia, flu, and bladder infections, and even with mild head trauma. Extra-carefulness is required! Our son walks with a walker, but needs to be watched at all time. He likes music and instruments, and reading as well. He is very charming!
A bit about you:
You have an abundance of physical energy and lots of understanding and patience. You have a calm spirit, and experience with toddlers. You excel at following directions and learning new things. You can handle tantrums and reroute behavior towards positive and constructive activities. You are loving and communicative. This is more than just a job for you; it feels rewarding to help a family who truly needs your help!
Job Duties: Diaper changes, assisting with meals (safe feeding and food prep), educational activities like reading, coloring, following nap routine, playtime, reading, diligent attentiveness and physical assistance with child walking (using a walker) and when sitting, holding his hand, physically lifting him, sometimes carrying him short distances, driving him to appointments, stroller walks, trips to the park when it is not crowded. If naps occur as planned, household tasks include child laundry, light tidying, loading/unloading the dishwasher, and picking up toys.
Position Highlights:
Set yourself apart: You have Special Needs experience with either a physical or neurological condition. You are open to helping with meal prep and/or know American Sign Language.
Schedule: Monday- Friday (8:30a-5p)
Pay: $30-$40 an hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired. This job is not visa eligible.
*Please note that during this time of COVID-19, Jovie expects all employees to follow CDC guidelines and ensure best hygiene practices when working and in their personal time. This family is following these recommended guidelines cautiously and conservatively and expect the caregiver to do the same to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
