A bit about us:
We’re an easy-going, happy family of 4 with 1 friendly cat. FYI, a couple months out of the year we will also have a dog in our home. I like reading and puzzles, and my husband enjoys hiking and staying active. We have two boys, but our youngest, who is 1, is at daycare so the care is primarily for our 5-year-old. I work from home, but I’ll be busy working and out your way. We have the most amazing nanny currently who is leaving to continue her education. She lets our son lead the play which is so nice after a full day of school where he has to follow the school routine and instructions.
Our 5-year-old son likes talking, engaging, and building things. He loves imaginary play and he really enjoys doing workbooks, and puzzles. Just like his mama, he loves books and will ask you to read to him. He has some slight social and emotional delays
A bit about you:
You are patient, playful, and fun. You have a fantastic imagination, and are happy to let our son lead the playtime with creative play, etc. You are friendly, calm, and attentive. You are comfortable providing care without using screens. You are reliable and punctual!
Job Duties: Walk or drive our son home from school (a 10-min walk or 2 min drive), make an after-school snack, play with him, do activities with him, read to him, take him to the park (across the street) and engage him without screen time. On rare occasions, care for our 1-year-old as well.
Position Highlights:
Qualifications: You have 3 years of childcare experience with toddlers (sibling care is relevant and can be combined with babysitting, etc), you have reliable transportation, are available for this summer and ideally next school year, and can work in a home with a cat and sometimes a dog too.
Set yourself apart: You have worked in a daycare setting, school setting or understand Montessori practices such as playing with 1 thing at a time. You also have experience with the 1-2 year-old age group, have a Driver’s license, clean driving record, and/or are open to driving children in the future to activities.
Schedule: Mon (1-5p)
Tues-Friday (2-5p)
Starting June 12, 2024

Pay: $23-$26 an hour

- No household cleaning tasks
- Minimal driving, if any
- Duration: Long-term if desired!
