Redwood City, CA
Full Time
Seeking Experienced Nanny
Experienced

A bit about us:
We are caring, patient, and attentive first-time parents looking for an amazing nanny to care for and love our baby! We are practicing “Gentle Parenting” and are looking for a nanny who will align with our parenting style and house rules. I will be working from home and stepping away from my home office to breastfeed. My husband usually works outside the home three days a week. Sometimes Grandma will travel from Iran and stay with us for a month. We are on the quieter side (me more than my husband), but we both value someone who is social and more outgoing.

Our 1-year-old baby girl is very expressive and energetic. She is not napping consistently, and wants to be held and rocked. She loves it when I sing to her and she loves to be played with!

A bit about you:
You are a loving, warm, and talkative nanny who is well-equipped to care for 1-year-old and help her reach milestones. You are great at teaching and supervising daily life skills with unlimited patience and clear communication. You are comfortable with a positive form of discipline that will deter undesirable behavior as she grows, and you are passionate about working with infants and toddlers. You have good hygiene and are careful not to expose the baby to viruses or germs while her immune system is developing.

Job Duties: Engaging the baby in age-appropriate play, games, and enrichment,  food prep for the baby (when she is napping), diaper changing, age-appropriate sensory play, following parents’ preferred routine for naps, helping create baby’s routine with the parents, baby laundry, organizing toys, cleaning toys, cleaning baby’s play area weekly, and occasionally driving baby to doctor’s appointments, etc.

Position Highlights:

  • Long-term job security (approximately 2 years)
  • Some Paid Holidays
  • Some PTO & Sick Pay
  • Dander-free home (No pets!)
  • No bottles to clean!
  • Minimal driving
  • No cooking skills required

Qualifications: 2 years of prior nanny experience with infants and toddlers from 12 months-3 years old, at least one previous long-term nanny placement for 2 years minimum, knowledge of infant development, fluent in English, valid Driver’s license, reliable car, clean driving record, and CPR plus First Aid certifications. Willing to abide by our house rules such as no cell phone use when you are with our child (on your breaks, you are welcome to be on your phone!), and no outdoor play at this point (you can feel free to take walks outside on your break). You must be comfortable in an environment where Mom is working from home.

Set yourself apart: You are creative and/or love to sing! You studied Child Psychology and/or Child Development. You love what you do and can’t wait to narrate and teach our baby!

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
