Short-term Night Nanny in Mountain View, CA for a Newborn

Mountain View, CA
Temporary to Full Time
Seeking Experienced Nanny
Experienced
A bit about us:
We both work in tech (in A.I.) and this is our first child! We are big on schedules. My husband does coding in his free time, and I like movies, hanging out with friends, and going for walks. I’m bilingual (Spanish/English), and we have 2 pet rats, Blondie and Cloud. No worries if you are not a rodent lover; we don’t need any pet care. We’re an organized, communicative, and caring family!

A bit about you:
You are experienced in caring one-on-one with newborns, gentle, kind, and reassuring! You’d describe yourself as a night owl and a baby whisperer…maybe a mom whisperer too. You’re comfortable working as a night nanny and having close interactions with moms as they navigate breastfeeding/pumping, etc. You’re easy-going, proactive, intuitive, and caring. You take great pride in the nurturing care you provide to both infants and new moms who are trying to get a good night’s rest.

Job Duties:
All baby-related tasks such as swaddling, soothing, rocking, burping, facilitating baby breastfeeding or bottle-feeding, sterilizing baby bottles, prepping baby bottles, changing diapers, changing baby bedding and clothing as needed, providing support for Mom and Dad to help them get as much sleep as possible. If you prefer the M-F (2a-10a) schedule you would also prepare breakfast and do baby laundry.

Position Highlights:
  • Some PTO and Sick Pay
  • Paid Holiday: July 4th
  • No pet care
  • No driving required
  • Home is within walking distance to Cal-train
  • No cooking unless you prefer to work 2a-10a (M-F).
  • Mostly childcare/new mom care
Qualifications:
You have a minimum of 2 years of fairly recent experience as a newborn/infant nanny (0-3 months) and/or experience as a night nanny, doula, or post-partum nanny, excellent references, and are willing to do a background screen (and a drug screen if requested). You would be comfortable working with a mildly ill baby. You are well-versed in sleep training.

Set yourself apart: You are certified in infant CPR, you are bilingual (Spanish/English), and/or you have been a night nanny previously for a newborn.

Schedule: Monday-Saturday (1:30am-8am)
                   Anticipated Placement Dates: May 20-August 20, 2024

Pay: $35 an hour
