Family of 5 (three children ages, 11. 7 and 5) is seeking a second nanny to join their team in the west metro area. This is a Rotational Schedule (ROTA) Nanny/Family Assistant position. Schedule is 14 days on/14 days off. Live on family property in separate apartment during 14 days on; live off-site during 14 days off.
Location: West Metro - Minneapolis, MN
Compensation: Minimum $100,000 for 26 weeks work, paid hourly with overtime, ROTA schedule
Nanny/Family Assistant Job Description:
Chilcare Duties
- Tend to the children’s basic needs such as dressing, bathing, preparing meals, and bedtime. Help to create and maintain a consistent schedule and routine.
- Create a nurturing and stimulating environment. Research and plan enriching and engaging age-appropriate experiences and activities, at home and in the community, that are fun and promote development. Assist with researching / signing up for activities and camps.
- Organize and accompany the kids on outings (i.e., park, bike trails, pool, etc.). This includes supervising the children in and around water. Help to arrange and supervise play dates with other children.
- Provide transportation to and from school and other activities using family vehicle.
- Assist with homework and school projects.
- Collaborate with parents and outside therapists/coaches/tutors to work on challenges and developmental stages as they arise (i.e., challenging behavior, learning, healthy eating, etc.). Read literature relevant to child development as requested.
- Accompany family on an outing or to an event or assist with the kids during an event at our home.
- Provide overnight care and travel care as needed. Assist with packing and unpacking for travel.
- Work collaboratively with parents, second nanny, and other members of household team.
Household Duties:
- Keep the children’s bedrooms, bathroom, mudroom cubbies, playroom and other play areas tidy and organized. Rotate toys and books on a regular basis.
- Tidy up the kitchen after meals and at the end of the day (i.e. load/unload the dishwasher, wipe down counters, vacuum under dining table). Take out garbage and recycling as needed.
- Wash and fold children’s laundry. Rotate clothing seasonally.
- Shop for groceries and household supplies for the family. Meal and snack preparation (primarily for the kids, but occasionally assist with simple meal prep for family and/or picking up take out for family).
- Help with organizational projects, such as playroom, mudroom, and children’s closets.
- Assist with other errands, such as mailing packages, taking donation items to Goodwill, and shopping for kid’s items, supplies, or gifts.
- Take car used to transport children to car wash and vacuum interior on a regular basis.
- Assist with other household tasks as needed (i.e. setting up for events or holiday decorating).
- Be present for home maintenance vendors as needed.
- Assist with the following pet care (1 dog): coordinate daycare pick up and drop off, feeding, provide regular exercise (a walk or playtime) on days not at daycare.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years ROTA Nanny and Home Manager experience with HNW family.
- College Degree.
- Minimum eight years combined general nanny, tutoring, camp counselor, or teaching experience.
- Preferred experience working with children with special needs.
- Strong communication skills to interact with three children and parents effectively.
- A nurturing attitude with a genuine love for working with children.
- Experience with HNW families, confidentiality and professionalism.
- Patience, creativity, and the ability to manage three children ages 5 - 11.
- Passport ready; Legal to work in the US; First Aid/CPR; current vaccinations.
- Impeccable references from all positions in past 10 years.
- Water Training Safety Certified
