Mountain View, CA
Full Time
Childcare
Experienced
Family Location: 94041
Summary:
A bit about us:
I’m an educated, perceptive, and open-minded mom with a curious and active 9-month-old baby. Together we enjoy exploring and learning. I’m completing a remote graduate program and would greatly value having an extra set of hands while remaining actively involved in my daughter's care. We’re an LGBTQ+ friendly home.
My 9-month-old daughter is social, vocal, tactile, adventurous, and eager to explore at her own pace. We appreciate a caregiver who respects her autonomy, observes her cues, and supports her development without forcing milestones or overstimulating her.
A bit about you:
You are calm, patient, organized, discreet, and highly adaptable. You understand infant development and are comfortable following a child-led, responsive caregiving approach. You work well in a co-care environment, respect professional boundaries, and can shift thoughtfully between infant care and household support depending on our family's needs. You are attentive, collaborative, and confident helping a mobile, curious baby safely explore her surroundings.
Job Duties:
This role includes providing attentive infant care while Mom studies, cooks, attends appointments, or takes occasional personal time. Responsibilities include observing and supporting the baby's interests, engaging her through developmentally appropriate play, talking, walks, and exploration, assisting with naps, diapering, and feeding routines, and accompanying Mom and baby on local outings when helpful. Household support includes cleaning bottles, sanitizing toys, loading and unloading the dishwasher, treating stains and assisting with baby laundry, light tidying, and helping maintain an orderly environment. Mom will handle meal preparation and grocery shopping, while the caregiver provides childcare coverage and practical support. Flexibility for occasional later evenings and local weekend travel, such as a short trip to Napa, is appreciated.
Position Highlights:
• Guaranteed Hours
• W-2 Payroll
• Three Paid Sick Days
• Duration: Approximately 5 Months
• Potential for Occasional Evening Hours
• Opportunity for Local Travel
Qualifications:
3 years of professional infant-care experience, comfort working in a collaborative Mother's Helper role, and willingness to travel locally.
Set yourself apart:
A child development background, familiarity with RIE or other respectful child-led caregiving approaches, knowledge of local infant-friendly activities, pediatric CPR certification, and flexibility for occasional out-of-state or international travel would be especially valuable.
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday (10AM - 6:00 PM)
Starting August 16th or ASAP!
*Occasional later evenings or local travel may be requested with advance notice.
Pay: $33-$37 per hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
