After-school Nanny in Redondo Beach, CA for a 10-year-old
Redondo Beach, CA
Part Time
Childcare
Mid Level
Family Location: 90278
Summary:
A bit about us:
We’re a hard-working, education-focused family of 3 who love our friendly and well-behaved Aussie Doodle named Mochi. Our jobs have become more demanding and we need a nanny to support our busy lifestyle by providing attentive care and structure to help our family thrive.
Our 10-year-old daughter loves making slime, swimming, and arts & crafts. She enjoys water polo, pickball, and jumping on the trampoline. She really responds to playful people. She’s an only child with a sensory processing issue which can make some physical activities challenging.
A bit about you:
You have GOOD ENERGY! You’re an engaging, proactive, fun nanny who can think outside the box. You’re able to get kids excited about activities, engaged in play that doesn’t involve screens, and can help with 5th grade homework. You’re the type of nanny who establishes trust and enforces healthy boundaries. This isn’t just a job to you, because you understand the power a positive role model can make in a child’s life.
Job Duties:
School pick-ups (could walk or drive), preparing a snack, homework help, play and activities, driving to extracurricular activities, children’s simple dinner prep, loading the dishwasher, keeping the home generally tidy (no major cleaning), laundry, and walking the doggo (optional).
Position Highlights:
Qualifications: 2 years of childcare experience, college degree or in college, fluent in English, Driver’s License, comfortable driving our child in your personal vehicle, a clean driving record, and basic cooking ability (such as mac n cheese).
Set yourself apart: You have ABA experience, tutoring experience, or a teaching certificate. You have a degree in Psychology and/or are considering a career path in Child Psychology. You love cooking and would be open to cooking dinner for the family. You are flexible to work some weeknights and weekends with prior notice for date nights.
Schedule: Mon-Fri (2:30-6:30p)
Please note that Wednesdays are from 1:30-5:30p
Starts ASAP!
Pay: $23-$27 an hour
**All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
*Please note that during this time of COVID-19, Jovie expects all employees to follow CDC guidelines and ensure best hygiene practices when working and in their personal time. This family is following these recommended guidelines cautiously and conservatively and expect the caregiver to do the same to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible.
