Summary:A bit about us:
I’m a hard-working, charismatic, single Mom who loves her children more than anything in the world. Our family values perseverance, communication, and engagement. I believe in direct communication and need a nanny I can count on. I currently work from home most days and we have 2 cats.My baby girl will be 7 months old soon. She’s starting to vocalize more and baby babble. She’s healthy, happy, and loves to be held! The care is primarily for her. I’m seeking someone committed and patient who can confidently manage the day while keeping my daughter safe, stimulated, and thriving.
My 8-year-old son is incredibly smart and very challenging. He likes basketball and piano. He has high-functioning autism coupled with aggressive behaviors. He’s starting 3rd grade and will be at school during the academic year, and will occasionally be home after school (1-2 hours) before he goes to his therapies. He may also require care during school breaks and holidays.
Full disclosure: This position is not for the faint of heart. My son’s aggressive behaviors include pinching, biting, kicking, hitting, spitting, and swearing. Some of his behavior is directed at his sister like the pinching, and often his behavior is directed at adults and caregivers.
A bit about you:
You’re emotionally strong, grounded, and caring. You have a big heart for all children, even the ones who are no picnic. You are nurturing, patient, and have strong infant experience as well as experience working with children on the spectrum and/or with behavioral issues. You can redirect my son’s undesirable behaviors (given time and guidance) while prioritizing infant safety. You’re able to align with a parenting style that focuses on nurturing and comforting an infant with lots of holding and baby-wearing. You genuinely enjoy helping children learn and grow through play, outings, and age-appropriate activities, and you bring a proactive, self-starting approach to your work. You are an excellent communicator who keeps parents informed, welcomes feedback, and exercises sound judgment independently.Job Duties: Your primary responsibility will be caring for an infant throughout the workday, following established feeding, nap, and play routines while encouraging developmental growth and milestone achievement. Duties include planning engaging activities, taking the child on outings such as story times, My Gym classes, walks, parks, and other age-appropriate adventures, as well as baby-related household tasks: preparing and feeding solids, washing bottles, completing baby laundry, tidying play areas, and assisting with other child-related household tasks during naps. The nanny will maintain daily logs of feedings, naps, and activities and communicate regularly with me (Mom) regarding the child's day and development. Occasional care for my son may be needed after-school (1-2 hours), during school breaks, and holidays. Sometimes my son will be at his Dad’s home instead of mine.
