After-School Nanny for Seattle 5 and 3yo (20 hrs per week) Placement
Seattle, WA
Part Time
Childcare

Jovie
Seattle, WA, USA
Summary:
A bit about us: We’re a warm and active family based in the city with two young children! Our 5yo daughter is entering kindergarten this fall and will need consistent afternoon care, our 3yo son goes to daycare full-time. Both parents work in tech and love spending quality time with our kids. Our family values play, creativity, structure, and kindness. We’re seeking a part-time nanny to support our daughter’s after-school routine, help with light tidying, and occasionally care for our preschooler when he’s home from daycare too.
A bit about you: You’re reliable, kind, and fun, with a calm, confident presence that can set and hold boundaries in a gentle, supportive way. You enjoy engaging kids in enriching activities and are able to guide and redirect when needed. A background in education, psychology, or child development would be a big plus, and we’d love someone who can help with elementary homework and loves being out and about. You’re punctual, safety-minded, and comfortable navigating school pickups and occasional outings.
Job Duties: This role includes providing after-school care from 2–6 pm, Monday through Friday, supporting homework, and supervising both structured and unstructured play. Once our kindergartner is enrolled in activities (such as piano, gymnastics, or anything else she takes an interest in), we’d appreciate your help with driving to and from those commitments. Light child-related household support is also appreciated, including tidying up play areas and handling snack-related dishes. Occasional care for our younger child may be needed when he’s home from daycare, and availability for the occasional evening or weekend babysitting would be a bonus. Text NANNY to 206-752-6917 to apply and schedule your interview in under 3 minutes.
Start Date: Ideally August 25th
End Date: Through the end of the 2025–2026 school year
Location: Seattle, 98119
Position Highlights: Guaranteed hours. Accrued sick time (1 hour per 20 hours worked). Holidays. Access to our family vehicle (or mileage reimbursement if using your own car to transport our children).
Qualifications: Multiple years of experience working with school-aged children. Background in education, child development, or psychology preferred. Strong communicator with a confident but gentle approach to boundaries and discipline. Comfortable supporting early elementary homework. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive (family car available or use of your own vehicle). COVID-vaccinated preferred. Glowing references from recent nanny positions.
Set yourself apart: Bonus if you bring creativity, enjoy planning engaging activities, or have a knack for organizing play spaces. Familiarity with conflict resolution between siblings or experience supporting spirited children is also a plus.
Schedule: M-F 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Flexibility for occasional weekend/date night babysitting is appreciated.
Pay: $31-37
